Foz do Iguaçu is one of the best value for money destinations in the world, according to Trivago

When it released its Global Hotel Reputation Ranking 2016, Trivago evaluates that, in addition to its attractions, it is worth visiting Foz do Iguaçu "just because of its hotels ."

Foz do Iguaçu is among the hundred best word destinations in the Global Hotel Reputation Ranking 2016, prepared by the hotel search website Trivago. Other three Brazilian destinations are on the list: Gramado (RS), Campos do Jordão (SP) and Paraty (RJ).

In the website's assessment, "Foz do Iguaçu has a lot more than Iguaçu Falls to offer. Besides being able to visit three countries in one day, see the magnitude of Itaipu up close, it still worthwhile to go there just because of some hotels. Like Paraty, it is also among the destinations with the best value for money."

To make the reputation ranking, Trivago considered all tourist destinations that have at least 130 hotels and 60 reviews from guests. In total, it collected more than 200 million reviews left by users from all over the world, based on which they calculated the average ratings for each destination, ranging from zero to 100.

Foz do Iguaçu received an index of 82,48, placed in position 59 in the ranking. Gramado fared the best in Brazil, in position 4. Campos do Jordão was place in position 31 and Paraty in position 80. This year, the main Brazilian destinations were left out (Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo), as they appeared in the previous ranking, along with Salvador (BA).

Among the best

The superintendent of Social Communication of Itaipu Binacional, Gilmar Piolla, says that “Foz do Iguaçu has one of the best hotel chains in Brazil, which stands out for its great quality and affordable prices for all visitors."

"The average rate for our hotels," adds Piolla, "is very competitive and one of the lowest in Brazil." Foz do Iguaçu has 176 lodging facilities and 27,500 beds, according to the latest version of the inventory of the Municipal Department of Tourism.
